Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

After making changes to some settings on your Dell printer you may find it has created problems and that it is difficult to correct such changes as the printer language, changes to distinctive fax ring patterns, or changes in default paper size.

In such situations, sometimes it can be simpler to correct the problem by resetting the printer's Non-Volatile Random Access Memory (NVRAM) to the original factory defaults.

When you restore a Dell printer to factory defaults, any data that has been added to the printer, such as fax phone lists or network settings, will be erased.

For detailed step-by-step guide on how to reset the factory defaults on your Dell Printer, refer to its User's Guide, open the printer product selector and then select your printer from the list at Dell Support.

Connect the Printer to Your Wireless Network
To connect using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
Confirm both your router and printer support WPS.
Press and hold the WPS button on your printer. A message indicating WPS mode is running should appear on the screen.
Press and hold the WPS button on your router.
Allow up to 2 minutes for the devices to connect.
Print a Settings Report to confirm the printer has successfully joined your wireless network.
To connect manually using the printer front panel:

Select 'System'.
Select 'Admin Menu'.

Some older models may need to be initially connected via USB or Ethernet cable to configure Wi-Fi settings. If you printer does not support WPS or front panel configuration refer to your user guide for model specific instructions.
Note: Dell Wi-Fi printers connect to the 2.4GHz band. If your router is dual mode 2.4GHz/5GHz ensure the 2.4GHz band is enabled.
